Srechko Katanec has stepped down as the head coach of the Uzbekistan national football team.

The contract was mutually terminated by both parties due to health issues affecting the Slovenian coach.
The head coach of the Uzbekistan national team, Srechko Katanec, has terminated his contract with the Uzbekistan Football Association by mutual agreement due to health issues.
The Slovenian coach mentioned in his statement that he is unable to fully and professionally fulfill his duties in his current condition. He expressed gratitude to the association for their ongoing support and fruitful collaboration, and wished the Uzbekistan team success in the World Cup qualifying matches.
The Uzbekistan Football Association expressed appreciation to Srechko Katanec for his efforts in managing the team and wished him a speedy recovery and success in his coaching career.
It was noted that the UFA is working on appointing a new candidate for the position of head coach of the national team.
Recall that in August 2021, Slovenian coach Srechko Katanec signed a four-year contract with the Uzbekistan Football Association.
