The Chery company unveiled its new hybrid platform C-DM 5.0 at a special conference in China, which served as the foundation for the Chery Fengyun A8L sedan. This vehicle has set a record among Chinese models for its driving range.
The C-DM 5.0 platform combines a fifth-generation 1.5-liter engine with a thermal efficiency of 44.5% (delivering 115 kW of power and 220 Nm of torque) and an electric motor with a power output of 150 kW, a torque of up to 310 Nm, and an efficiency of up to 98.5% in fully electric mode. The system includes a continuously variable hybrid transmission (DHT).
The Fengyun A8L sedan is equipped with an 18.67 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, enabling it to travel 145 km on electric power alone. In hybrid mode, the vehicle achieved a remarkable distance of 2369.915 km without needing a recharge or refueling, showcasing an average fuel consumption of just 2.66 liters per 100 km.
