Apple has officially announced the launch of artificial intelligence (AI) tools on its devices. This was reported in a press release on the corporation's website.
The Apple Intelligence neural network has become available to all users of the brand's smartphones, tablets, and computers with the updates iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1. Currently, the AI services only support the English language.
Apple Intelligence includes tools for editing and composing emails, advanced photo and image search, a feature for recording and transcribing phone calls, smart replies in the built-in email client, and a text rewriting function in "Notes." A built-in ChatGPT chatbot is expected to be added to devices with future updates.
“Apple Intelligence opens a new era for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, offering entirely new capabilities and tools that will change what our users can achieve,” commented Apple CEO Tim Cook on the release.
The AI tools are available on iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPad with A17 Pro or M1, and computers powered by M1 and newer processors. Support for languages other than English is promised to be implemented by Apple in 2025.
